All About The Penguin

What was initially introduced as a single film set outside the DCEU in DC Elseworlds has now evolved into an entire franchise, expanding not only into movies but also TV shows led by the same actors from the films. The Batman Epic Crime Saga is a legitimate branch of DC Elseworlds, which began with The Batman: Part I. Following the Robert Pattinson starrer, the next installment is a show centered on Colin Farrell’s character titled The Penguin. In this series, Farrell takes on the lead role, continuing the story directly after the events of Matt Reeves' film, The Batman. The show, however, focuses solely on Oz Cobb, with Farrell as the main protagonist, and Batman will not be involved. Excitingly, we are now just days away from the show's release.

What Is The Penguin?

Starring Colin Farrell, The Penguin picks up where The Batman: Part I left off. Reports indicate that the show will follow Farrell’s Oz Cobb as he rises from obscurity to becoming Gotham’s notorious mob lord, presenting a significant threat to Bruce Wayne. We can consider The Penguin as a foundation for the character’s larger role in future films. Essentially, the show takes place after Gotham’s flooding at the end of The Batman and explores the aftermath of the events in the film.

The Plot of The Penguin

The creators have cleverly kept details about The Penguin tightly under wraps. However, the official synopsis reads: "Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka 'The Penguin'), the eight-episode DC Studios limited series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves' The Batman epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures' global blockbuster The Batman. Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film."
