The Penguin Ep 3 ending explained

Episode three of The Penguin was like a rollercoaster. Just when you thought the bumps were over and the ride might smooth out, another twist turned everything upside down again. The episode opens with Victor, and we learn about the tragedy in his life. Soon, we’re back to Sofia and Oz, who are now partners (and maybe friends?), working together to sell their new drug. We watch them expand their operation in a pub. But it’s the end of the episode where everything unravels, and things only get messier from here.

The Penguin Episode 3 Ending Explained

Salvatore Maroni and his family have mostly been used as scapegoats in The Penguin and they’ve become aware of it. Now, they’re tracking Oz, looking for revenge. In the climax, they confront him, and Sofia happens to be there as well. While the show briefly shifts its focus to Victor, it’s unclear whether Sofia has been told about Oz’s betrayal, how he conned them all, or whether there’s still hope for him. Only time will tell.

What’s even more worrisome is when Victor returns, ramming his car into one of Maroni's men, and speeds away with Oz jumping into the passenger seat. While Victor wants to wait for Sofia, Oz tells him to drive off without her. As they speed away, gunfire erupts in the background. The show leaves us with a lot of questions: Did Maroni expose Oz to Sofia? Did Oz use Sofia as a scapegoat this time? Was Sofia shot (though this seems unlikely)? What’s clear is that the relationship between Sofia and Oz has taken a hit once again, before it even had a chance to develop.
