With his new documentary, The Menendez Brothers Alejandro Hartmann sifts through decades of evidence related to the crime and the trial that followed. Although the new information may not fully answer all of the case's open questions, it does provide a different perspective, as the brothers have stated in fresh audio recordings.

One of the most high-profile criminal trials of the twentieth century culminated with the 1996 conviction of Lyle and Erik Menendez for the double homicide of their parents. After nearly three decades, the brothers rehash the nation-shocking trial in their own words.

The video includes new interviews with Lyle and Erik Menendez, as well as their relative Diane Vander Molen and prosecutor Pamela Bozanich.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story explores their tragic past

Following brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez as they recount the 1989 murder of their parents in their Beverly Hills home, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story delves into their tragic story. The brothers blamed their parents' murders on years of mistreatment, according to their trial testimony. But the prosecution claimed they were only acting out of a desire to inherit the family money.

Javier Bardem portrays José Menendez, the father of Erik and Lyle and a prominent figure in the music industry. Kitty, the matriarch of the Menendez family, is played by Chloë Sevigny. Nicholas Chavez portrays Lyle, the eldest brother of the Menendez brothers. Erik, played by Cooper Koch, and his brother Lyle, who became famous after murdering their parents, are the centre of the story.

Ryan Murphy's true-crime drama series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story which revolves around the brothers, is currently available to watch on the streaming platform.
