The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will debut next month with a two episode premiere on Prime Video.
The Rings of Power final trailer released ahead of series premiere
The premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is just a few days away! And, a new trailer is here. So, fans will be able to catch the first two episodes on the big screen, a couple of days before the actual release. Amazon collaborated with Cinemark to screen the premiere episodes for one night only on August 31.
The Cinemark promotional free fan event is a nod to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings film series, which made movie night an event for tentpole films.
The new two-minute-and-36-second trailer highlights the epic expanse of Middle-earth in its Second Age and reveals how Tolkien's legendary and beloved characters will come together against all odds and across great distances to guard against the feared reemergence of evil in Middle-earth. Fates collide and disparate characters are tested in the face of impending evil in this glimpse into the long-awaited new series.
The Rings of Power features key cast members Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), and Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards); Harfoots Elanor “Nori” Brandyfoot (Markella Kavenagh) and Largo Brandyfoot (Dylan Smith); The Stranger (Daniel Weyman); Númenóreans Isildur (Maxim Baldry), Eärien (Ema Horvath), Elendil (Lloyd Owen), Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle), and Queen Regent Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson); Dwarves King Durin III (Peter Mullan), Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), and Princess Disa (Sophia Nomvete); Southlanders Halbrand (Charlie Vickers); Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi); and Silvan-elf Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova), according to the press release.
"From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Numenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone," the statement from Prime Video, read.
Amazon hopes to make a big splash with Rings of Power, which reportedly has a production budget of more than $400 million and has been described as "the largest television series ever made" by Stuart Nash, New Zealand's minister for economic development and tourism.
Following the premiere, the series will transition to a one-episode-per-week release schedule, with the remaining six episodes debuting on each subsequent Friday, in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Are you excited? What are you looking forward to most in this series?
