After a great run in theatres since its release in May 2023, The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey is all set for its digital premiere . The live-action adaptation of Disney's 1989 animated film of the same name, the Rob Marshall directorial has Halle in the titular role of Ariel, the mermaid princess.
Plot
Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton, finds herself pulled towards life outside the ocean. Her fascination with the ground and humans lands her in trouble when she goes out of her boundaries to explore a shipwreck and saves a land prince Eric. The two soon fall in love with each other which calls for huge trouble as Ariel's mother was killed by a human, which grew her father's hatred towards the land people.

The first official teaser trailer witnesses Halle in the iconic avatar as Ariel swimming around at the bottom of the ocean. She suddenly comes across a shipwreck and during her exploration discovers an unseen world.
Poster
A new poster of the live-action musical drama featuring Halle as Ariel with her sea creatures was unveiled in August 2023. The makers dropped the new image with a special caption on Disney's official Instagram handle that reads, "Now Sing! Experience your favorite songs all over again with Disney's #TheLittleMermaid sing-along in select theaters August 25. (sic)."
