The Legend of Hanuman is all set for its third season’s premier on Disney+, marking the momentuous beginning or the ‘arambh’ of the epic battle between Good and Evil, as traditionally and factually depicted by Ram on one hand, and Ravan on the other.
Starring the likes of Da Man as Hanuman, Sharad Kelkar as Ravan, and Sanket Mhatre as Ram, among others, The Legend of Hanuman’s third season marks an electrifying start to the new year, with it streaming January 12, 2024, onwards, on Disney+.
1. The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 sees Hanuman touch the peak of his powers
Though in the previous seasons Hanuman has proved his extraordinary power and will, Season 3 sees him trace the main events of the battle between Ram and Ravan, according to Valmiki’s Ramayana, including him reaching the full extent of his powers. For his own good, in his childhood, his powers had been hidden from him, but now the time has come for him to wield his powers, instead of being scared by them, in order to restore order and balance in nature and the Universe.
2. The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 finally begins with the battle between Ram and Ravan
The Legend of Hanuman’s second season ended with Hanuman blowing on the coach that signals battle. The third season begins with the eventual conflict between Ram and Ravan and the incidents and battles that led to it. From Hanuman’s arrival at Lanka to meeting the imprisoned Sita in the beautiful but securely guarded Ashok Vatika. But when Hanuman is near, what does Sita Mata have to fear? As long as Pawan Putra breathes and swears by Ram’s name, not a scratch shall befall the latter, especially till his defeat of Ravan, which shall fulfill Ram’s purpose of birth.
3. The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 does not paint their characters as simply God, Vanar, or Rakshasa
The Legend of Hanuman has always taken a differing approach to Ramayana. Instead of painting it as a myth, the show has tried to utilize animation in a realistic manner to imbue the upcoming generation with its own culture and history. Despite being a Rakshasa, Ravan is the son of a learned Brahmin, and is himself highly learned, despite being corrupt and arrogant. Similarly, the show ensures the text’s authenticity by maintaining the crucial fact that a person’s view and approach to life matters, not their origin or race.

4. The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 promises to explore more lesser-known tales from Ramayana
The Legend of Hanuman, from its first season, has spent a lot of time exploring the lesser-known stories and escapades of Hanuman. Though this season arrives at the final war juncture, as evident from the trailer of the third season, Hanuman will have to fight different kinds of monstrous creatures, who follow Ravan, in order to achieve his goal. From depicting realistic Medusa-like snakey Rakshasas, to huge Kraken-like ones, The Legend of Hanuman shows it all, further confirming the fact that the path to Lanka is not as easy as many deem it to be.
5. The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 touches base on the rare comparison between Hanuman and Ravan’s might
The Legend of Hanuman Season 3 aspires to compare the will and might of Hanuman and Ravan, in an unusual take. As both are highly educated individuals, Hanuman and Ravan, hone their skills for the ultimate showdown, barring the ‘lighting the tail and burning the nation of Lanka’ incident. Hanuman, in this season’s trailer, appears troubled, as he feels his powers might be getting the best of him. To avoid it, he seeks the advice of Jambuvan and Vibhishan, but to no relief. Now, it is yet to be seen, if Hanuman finally gathers full control over his powers, like his mentors had advised, or does Ram have another role to play in the case of his most-adored devotee.
