The Legend is considered as the last film of Padma Shri Vivekh and it after his demise
Businessman-turned-entrepreneur Saravanan Arul, who made his acting debut with The Legend, which hit screens on July 28, took to his social media page, to share some pictures with the late comedian Vivekh. The Legend is considered as the last film of Padma Shri Vivekh and it released after his demise. Actor Vivekh had passed away due to cardiac arrest in April 2021.
Saravanan shared a few pictures of himself with Vivekh from the set of the film and captioned it, "Memorable Moments with PadmaShri @Actor_Vivek during #TheLegend Shoot (sic)." Saravanan had said during the promotions that it was his dream to venture into films. He played a revolutionary scientist, an NRI, who returns to the country to serve his people. The plot was said to be heavily borrowed from Rajinikanth's Sivaji.
Saravanan had also shared a throwback moment with choreographer Sandy on his social media handle. Sharing the video, in which he shook a leg to Sandy's moves, Saravanan wrote, "Memorable moment with @iamSandy_Off Master at #TheLegend Grand Audio and Trailer Launch #TheLegendRunningSuccessfully #LegendSaravanan @DirJdjerry @Jharrisjayaraj @_TheLegendMovie (sic)." Interestingly, Saravanan had made his social media debut to promote his maiden film.

The film had its first show at 4am, which is usually reserved for big stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay and Ajith. Despite the heavy-duty promotions, the film received a lukewarm response at the box office . The star cast comprised Yogi Babu, Prabhu, Vijayakumar, Nasser and Suman.
The film marked the comeback of popular musician Harris Jayaraj. The Legend also had the last song of singer KK, who had passed away recently while performing at a concert in Kolkata. Cinematography for The Legend was by Velraj and editing by Ruben. The film was bankrolled by Saravanan himself.
