The Last Of Us Season 2 is currently in the making and it turns out that there is a new addition to the cast.
The year 2023 was one of abundance as far as good content in the digital space was concerned. Many experiments paid off and we are now gearing up to watch some prolific shows. Amid all this, who would have thought a studio would decide to make a live-action adaptation of a popular game and hit gold with it? The Last Of Us, starring Pedro Pascal, turned out to be the most nuanced, moving, thrilling, and exciting show of 2023. People were ready to judge, as they often do with adaptations, but they were given no chance to, and now they await the second season with bated breath. It seems the makers have now cast a new actor for a mysterious role.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for every single update about The Last Of Us Season 2. According to the latest update, the studio has cast a new female star for the second season of the show, led by Pedro Pascal. Catherine O’Hara has been roped in to play a pivotal part in The Last Of Us Season 2. Catherine is known for her roles in films like Beetlejuice 2, Home Alone, and Argylle, which was recently released with Henry Cavill in the lead. The Variety report does not provide official details about O’Hara’s role.
While there is no official information about her part, she is listed as an undisclosed character in the show. However, that is not stopping the scoopers from bringing out details. According to Daniel Richtman, the scooper known for breaking strong news, Catherine plays a character not featured in the video game. She will play a woman named Gail.

There is no mention of Gail in The Last Of Us games. However, she could play the mother of the new character, Abby. Catherine O’Hara could also be the person referenced in the second game but never shown in person. It will be interesting to see what the makers do with this seasoned actor. Everything about her role is now anticipated.
Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine Miles, Ashley Johnson, and Troy Baker will reprise their roles in The Last Of Us Season 2 if their characters are alive. New additions for Season 2 include Isabela Merced (Hunger Games Prequel) as Dina, Young Mazino (Beef) as Jesse, and Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) as Abby.
Craig Mazin of Chornobyl fame will continue to create the show with game creator Neil Druckmann. The Last Of Us Season 2 will start filming this month, in February, and is expected to hit streaming platforms in 2025.
