The King’s Man trailer: Ralph Fiennes’ prequel promises violent action and thrills

The trailer for the upcoming The King’s Man the third instalment in the Kingsman film franchise, was released by its production house recently. Starring Ralph Fiennes, The King’s Man is a prequel and will tell the origin story of the titular spy organisation.

The trailer for The King’s Man features violent action sequences that we have come to expect from Kingsman movies. Set around the time of World War I, the film opens with Ralph Fiennes’ Orlando meeting Grigori Rasputin. The trailer then follows to show the Kingsman organisation at its early days. The trailer also features a lot of blood and foul language.

The King’s Man will follow Fiennes’ Orlando and his young protege, as they team up to take on a group of some of the world's tyrants and criminals as they plot to start a war that will wipe out millions.

The King’s Man is co-written and directed by Matthew Vaughn, who also helmed the previous two instalments. Apart from Fiennes, the movie also features Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, Stanley Tucci, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Charles Dance.

The Kingsman series is based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic book series of the same name. The first film, Kingsman: The Secret Service was released in 2014, and became an instant success for its action and fast-paced storytelling. A sequel titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle came out in 2017 and was also successful.

The King’s Man’s release was delayed due to the pandemic. The film is now scheduled to release on December 22.
