After the unprecedented success of their film ‘The Kerala Story’, all the eyes were tr ained on the hit duo of Sudipto Sen and Vipul Shah in order to know about their next venture. A few days ago, there was a buzz of sorts that, Sudipto Sen was being signed by a major production company, although there had been no announcement or confirmation regarding the same. But what is confirmed is that, ‘The Kerala Story’s hit duo of film maker Sudipto Sen and producer Vipul Shah are now coming together to make their next film, which has been titled ‘Bastar’.

The film's director Sudipto Sen took to social media and announced the film. He posted the film's poster and captioned itr stating, "April 6, 2010. 76 CRPF jawan and 8 poor villagers were killed in an bloodiest attack by the terrorists, in Chintalner village of Dantewada District of Bastar, Chhattisgarh. After exactly 14-years, the poetic justice will be delivered. #Bastar ... Our humble presentation after #TheKeralaStory. Thank you VipulAmrutlalShah and @sunshinepicture for showing the heart. See you at theater on April4, 2024"

Well known film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh today took to social media and posted the said news. Taran Adarsh tweeted stating, “‘THE KERALA STORY’ TEAM REUNITES… ANNOUNCE ‘BASTAR’… After the #Blockbuster success of #TheKeralaStory, producer #VipulAmrutlalShah and director #SudiptoSen reunite for a new film, titled #Bastar… 5 April 2024 release… OFFICIAL POSTER…” He also shared the film’s poster, which was noting less of being very intriguing. From the looks of the poster, it definitely seems that ‘Bastar’ is a story which has been set against a political backdrop. The cast and crew details of the film is yet to be announced. The film’s tagline is ‘Hidden truth that will take the nation by storm’.

What remains to be seen is that, will Sudipto Sen and Vipul Shah sign Adah Sharma for ‘Bastar’. For the unversed, it was the trio of Sudipto Sen, Vipul Shah and Adah Sharma who spearheaded ‘The Kerala Story’. Speaking of ‘The Kerala Story’, its nothing less than ironical that, despite having a dream run at the box-office, the film is reportedly finding it difficult to find any takers on the OTT platforms.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the director Sudipto, when was asked about the OTT release of the film, he replied, “We still haven’t got a suitable offer from any OTT platform for The Kerala Story.” He further added, "We are still waiting for a good workable deal from any of the main OTT platforms. But so far, we have not got any offer worth considering. It seems the film industry has ganged up to punish us. Our box office success has irked many sections of the film industry. We have a feeling that a section of the entertainment industry has united to punish us for our success.”
