The Kashmir Files: Swara Bhasker trolled for tweet that netizens think is about Vivek Agnihotri’s film

Swara Bhasker is not one to shy away from voicing her opinions, despite how unkind people may take them. It seems that the actress has gotten herself entangled in another row, this time over The Kashmir Files.

Recently on Twitter, the actress had posted a cryptic tweet talking about how if someone wanted praise for their efforts, they should not have ‘spent the last five years’ doing disagreeable things to people.

Although she did not specifically name anyone in her tweet, many users felt that the actress was referring to The Kashmir Files writer and director, Vivek Agnihotri. In the replies to the post, users were critical of Bhasker for her comments, some even mocking her. Some users accused her of criticising the film just so she could get attention, while others implored her to watch the series with a neutral eye and then give her take on the same.

The makers of the film had talked about some of the challenges they faced in getting the film to screens. Director Agnihotri had talked about how he had received threats on Twitter before the film, and Pallavi Joshi had talked about how they had received a fatwa during the shoot and the years they had spent doing research for it.

The Kashmir Files, which was released in theatres on March 11, revolves around the story of the mass exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits that took place in the 1990s. The film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Atul Srivastava, Prithviraj Sarnaik, Bhasha Sumbli and Prakash Belawadi.
