The Kashmir Files directed by Viv ek Agnihotri, has become a rage on the internet. The fans are heaping praises for the film on Kashmiri Pandits. Even PM Narendra Modi appreciated the film, which stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar and Pallavi Joshi. A few state governments had also declared a holiday or a half-day leave for their employees to catch a show of the movie.
Celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Suniel Shetty have also appreciated the film. But Ram Gopal Varma seems to have 'hated' it. The filmmaker reviewed Agnihotri's film on his YouTube channel and said that he 'hated' the film. Varma explains that the film has 'destroyed' whatever he has learned and thought was right and wrong. "I can’t go back and I can’t reinvent myself and can’t rethink now, ‘Oh, this is how it should be made’. No, can’t. So I hate Kashmir Files whether it is the director or acting style or it is the way the screenplay was made,” he said in the video. The director also tweeted a part of the video.
He added that he 'hates' the team of Kashmir Files because they made him and other filmmakers 'lose identity'. "I hate all the people associated with Kasmir files but I love Vivek Agnihotri for making this happen,” he said. He also tweeted some links to documents and wrote, "Top 7 production houses of Bollywood will cease to be at the top and will lose their control on the film industry because #kashmirifiles proved that anyone from anywhere can come to sit on top which is ultimate democratisation of cinema."

In the series of tweets, he further wrote, “How #kashmirifiles killed Bollywood… Check link” and “More than anything else #KashmiriFiles has forced Bollywood to take audiences seriously and not anymore presume them to be mind less dumbos who will only see Masala films check link.”
The director of Kashmiri Files, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri retweeted his review with a reply. He wrote, “You hate #TheKashmirFiles @RGVzoomin and that’s why I love you.”

The Kashmir Files which was relea sed in theatres on March 11, is nearing Rs 200 crore mark. The film will be making a digital premiere soon. Reportedly, the rights of the film have been acquired by ZEE5.
