The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri gets into a war of words with Twitter user who challenged him to make Manipur Files

Vivek Agnihotri responded to a Twitter user who said, ‘Make Manipur Files If You’re Man Enough’.

Vivek Agnihotri, the director of The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, got into a heated exchange with a Twitter user who challenged him to make a film on Manipur violence. The user asked him to make The Manipur Files if he is man enough.

The spat started when Vivek tweeted about the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus and how the Indian judiciary failed to protect their right to life. He also shared the trailer of his web series The Kashmir Files Unreported, which is based on his extensive research on the issue.

A Twitter user replied to his tweet and wrote, "Don't waste time go and make a movie 'Manipur Files' if you are man enough." Vivek did not take kindly to this comment and responded, "Thanks for having so much faith in me. Par saari films mujhse hi banwaoge kya yaar? Tumhari 'Team India' mein koi 'man enough' filmmaker nahin hai kya?"

Vivek Agnihotri is known for making films on controversial and sensitive topics, such as The Tashkent Files, which was based on the mysterious death of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, and The Kashmir Files, which was based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley.

Manipur has been witnessing ethnic violence since May 3, when two women were paraded naked by a group of men in Kangpokpi district. The incident triggered outrage on social media and led to protests by various groups demanding justice for the victims.
