The Jengaburu Curse: When and where to stream Nila Madhab Panda's web series

Touted as India's first cli-fi series, the show throws light on the need for environmental conservation

The release date for the new web series, The Jengaburu Curse, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda, has been released. The show, which addresses the dire need for environmental conservation, will be available to stream on SonyLIV starting August 9.

Speaking about her show, creator and director Nila Madhab Panda said, "The Jengaburu Curse is the first Indian cli-fi thriller series. The show delves deep into the repercussions of mankind's relentless pursuit of natural resources, revealing the alarming consequences that follow."

Nila added, "Through Jengaburu, our aim is to entertain the audience as well as raise awareness about the dire need for environmental conservation. We are proud to have brought together a talented cast and crew and can't wait for audiences to embark on this thrilling adventure with us."

Nila is the man behind films like I am Kalam, Jalpari, and Kadvi Hawa.

The story of The Jengaburu Curse begins with the journey of London-based financial analyst Priya Das, who goes back to her village in Odisha in search of her father, who mysteriously goes missing. As she starts looking for her father, a series of events start to unfold, and an unlikely connection is formed between the indigenous Bondia tribe and the mining state of Odisha.

The show stars Faria Abdullah, Melanie Gray, Nassar, Makrand Deshpande, Richard Bhakti Klein, Sudev Nair, Deipak Sampat, and Hitesh Dave in pivotal roles.

The Jengaburu Curse will be available to stream on SonyLIV starting August 9.
