The Iron Claw brought the four actors including Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White close but it were tiny spandex that drew them closer,
Spandex as a material has become the talk of the town for the past many years since superheroes entered mainstream cinema and universes were formed. She-Hulk humorously highlighted how the material is a best friend for superheroes, and even more so for those like her and her cousin. We've heard actors discussing their experiences wearing costumes made of spandex, often sharing hilarious anecdotes. But did you ever think that spandex could be the reason why four actors bonded and grew closer?
Well, that is the case for Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who star together in the film The Iron Claw. The stars have confessed that they bonded over wearing those tiny spandex outfits. Read on to know more.
Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman play the four Von Erich brothers—Kevin, Kerry, David, and Lance—in the film that tells the tragic and iconic story of the Von Erich family. The Iron Claw which released in cinemas late last year, was appreciated for many aspects, but foremost among them was the transformation. This transformation included a vulnerable space where the stars had to shed vanity, clothes, and even body hair to get used to wearing tiny spandex shorts.
According to People it was the little spandex shorts that helped the boys of The Iron Claw bond well. They had to put their vanity aside and get used to the costume. This situation had them stand in front of each other in the most vulnerable position, which helped them come closer and play brothers on screen. "We definitely had to put vanity aside and get used to inhabiting these clothes," Efron, 36, told the publication.
Harris Dickinson described trying on the spandex, which he defined as "tiny things," saying, "Those were the early days of meeting each other as well. And we were full-body shaved by our wonderful makeup department." Dickinson, 27, is famous for his role in Triangle Of Sadness. The Bear fame Jeremy Allen White, who plays Kerry in the movie, was quick to add, "I felt very vulnerable all the time. The wardrobe was so important to the men at the time. You had to commit... or else."
