The Greatest Of All Time director Venkat Prabhu recently opened up about the Thalapathy Vijay starrer. The filmmaker dropped major updates on the film’s pending shoot and post-production plans.

The Greatest Of All Time, the highly anticipated action thriller marks the first collaboration of Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu. The movie, which features Vijay in a double role, is now nearing the final stages of its filming. The makers have not revealed any major updates on the film, apart from the two official posters, so far. However, director Venkat Prabhu, who recently attended an event in Chennai, dropped some major updates on The GOAT.

The renowned filmmaker, who recently attended the pre-release event of the upcoming film J Baby, opened up about his first onscreen collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay. Venkat Prabhu, who addressed the audience, confirmed that The GOAT shoot is indeed inching towards its completion. Interestingly, the director also rubbished the reports which suggested that the Vijay starrer is an adaptation of Gemini Man, the 2019-released Will Smith film. He confirmed that The Greatest Of All Time deals with a fresh subject.

The GOAT shoot, post-production, and first single updates

According to Venkat Prabhu, the shooting of The GOAT is currently in its final stage. The team has completed filming a major percentage of the film, barring a few portions which will be included in the upcoming foreign schedule, and the climax. However, director VP and his team have already kickstarted the CG works of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer. The filmmaker, who addressed the media at the J Baby pre-release event, confirmed that the CG works are progressing in Chennai and Los Angeles.

Interestingly, the CG and VFX works of the film, which will feature leading man Vijay in the role of a 19-year-old, are done by five companies. Meanwhile, the team is also actively working on the songs of the film. If things go as planned, the highly anticipated first single of The Greatest Of All Time, which is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja will be released in May 2024.
