Aishwarya Rajesh's last outing, Suzhal, the Amazon Prime original series, won her rave reviews from several quarters. However, the actress did not have a theatrical release in 2022. But now it looks like she is likely to have a release this year as we are 10 days away from welcoming 2023.
The makers of The Great Indian Kitchen, starring her in the lead, have now announced that the film will be released in theatres on December 29. The project's shooting was wrapped a while ago, and the film was certified U/A a few months ago.
The digital rights of the movie directed by Kannan were bagged by Zee5 recently. Rahul Raveendran plays another lead in the film which is the official Tamil remake of the Mollywood project of the same name. The Malayalam movie helmed by Jeo Baby was released in 2021.
It opened to humongous response from critics and gained attention from cinephiles from across the nation. Kannan decided to remake the project last year and came up with the announcement, leaving many surprised. Durgaram Choudhary and Neel Choudhary have bankrolled the movie which has cinematography by Balasubramaniem and music by Jerry Silvester Vincent.
Aishwarya is playing the character essayed by Nimisha Sajayan in the original version, while Rahul is portraying the role enacted by Suraj Venjaramoodu. The Malayalam movie was widely discussed among film buffs for its relevant, hard-hitting content that touched upon the struggles a woman faces in the kitchen because of the presence of misogynists in her house.
Aishwarya currently has half-a-dozen films in her kitty; Mohandas, in which she has shared screen space with Vishnu Vishal, is likely to be her first outing in 2023.
