Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma recently posted a photo with cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, teasing their upcoming appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show. The episode is now available on Netflix. In the show, Rohit Sharma revealed whether any bowler had ever asked him to refrain from hitting sixes in a cricket match. He revealed this incident in the presence of his wife Ritika Sajdeh who was present in the audience at the show.
In a fun interaction, Kapil funnily asked Rohit if any bowler – who has his girlfriend in the stadium – ever asked him not to hit sixes and instead score two runs in three balls each to not look bad in the bowler’s girlfriend’s eyes. Rohit replied ‘yes’.
Rohit said, “Baatain hui hai aisi. Phir maine unko bola teri toh girlfriend aayi hai par meri toh biwi aayi hai... (crowd laughs) ... Bechari (meri biwi) poore match main fingers cross karke baithi rehti hai. Toh woh zyaada important hai mere liye. (I have had such kind of a conversation in the past. Then, I told a bowler ‘Your girlfriend is here. My wife is here.’ Poor thing (my wife) sits throughout the entire match with crossed fingers. So, my wife is more important to me.)”
Hearing this, Shreyas Iyer, Ritika Sajdeh, Kapil Sharma, and actress Archana Puran Singh (who was also present on the show) laughed loudly.
In another comical talk, Kapil wondered whether Rohit ever boldly expressed that he is upset with someone on the cricket field, especially in view of microphones on the stumps. Rohit Sharma nodded with a yes and added, “Kar bhi kya sakte hai, humare ladke sust murge hai. Bhaagte nahi hai (What can we do, our boys are lazy chickens. They don't run).”
The Great Indian Kapil Show can be viewed anytime on Netflix. This is the first time that Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have come together on a show.
