The news that Kapil Sharma is rebranding his comedy show, taking the entire concept from television to streaming after a long break, was a big change for the audience. It took a while for them to digest that their favorite comedian and his clan will now land on Netflix and not TV. But once they were on board with the idea, there was no looking back for Sharma and the show’s team. Netflix announced the show with the new title The Great Indian Kapil Show and we witnessed a successful season, followed by another release on the platform. The second season of the show has been running for the past many weeks, and just when we thought we were getting into the groove, Kapil has now announced the Season 2 finale of the show. You heard that right — Varun Dhawan with Team Baby John will mark the final episode of this season.

The Great Indian Kapil Show Finale To Feature Team Baby John

As confirmed by the cast, The Great Indian Kapil Show will run on a seasonal basis on Netflix as opposed to the daily format on TV with no breaks. Every single season of the show will have 13 episodes each, which will be the standard format. The second season of the Kapil Sharma-led show is now reaching its 13th episode, marking the finale, where Kapil Sharma will be seen having fun with Varun Dhawan and the Baby John team.

The teaser for the finale episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show was revealed during the 12th episode, which features the legendary Rekha. In the teaser, we see Kapil Sharma confirming the Season 2 finale. The final episode will be graced by Varun Dhawan, Atlee, director Kalees, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The teaser promises endless fun and a grand celebration. The highlight of the entire video is Varun’s pole dance, which leaves the audience on set in splits.

The Great Indian Kapil Show Format

Talking about the format in an interview with News18 Archana Puran Singh said that the breaks between seasons are a policy of the makers and that they are fine with it. “Netflix took a break, not us. It’s their policy/format that they come seasonal,” Archana said. “They don’t have the habit of working too much. We love working a lot; make us work twice a week. We want Netflix to also follow the same,” Rajiv Thakur added. Sunil Grover said, “I think as a format, this might be how they function — film 13 episodes a season.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 features a star-studded lineup, including Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, Chunky Panday, the cast of Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives Rekha, Vidya Balan, Kartik Aaryan, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Jr NTR, Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal, Shatrughan Sinha, and cricketers Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Axar Patel, to name a few.
