With Suresh Gopi now finding time to do films in between his political endeavours, filmmakers have been queuing up for him limited dates. The superstar already has finished shooting for a few films such as Kaaval and Paappan, and has some more lined up including Ottakomban. The latest project in discussion, we hear, is a movie that will be helmed by The Great Father director Haneef Adeni.

The young filmmaker, who directed Mammootty in The Great Father and Nivin Pauly in Mikhael, is reportedly in final rounds of discussions with Suresh Gopi for the movie, which will be produced by Anto Joseph. When OTTplay reached out to the producer, however, he denied the reports.

However, we have confirmed that the filmmaker is indeed in talks for the movie, which is touted to be an investigative thriller. Haneef’s previous films The Great Father and Abhrahaminte Santhathikal too revolved around the same genre. The director was also attached to script another gangster film titled Ameer, which had Mammootty in the lead and was set to be shot extensively in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi has completed the shoot of Nithin Renji Panicker’s Kaaval last year and was busy shooting for Joshiy’s Paappan before this year’s lockdown. The latter has Suresh Gopi playing a retired SP, who is reinstated to investigate a murder case. The film marks the first time that Suresh Gopi will team up with son Gokul.

Kaaval, which also has Renji Panicker in a pivotal role, is a family drama-thriller and is expected to be Suresh Gopi’s next release. The veteran star also has Mathews Thomas’ Ottakkomban and RS Vimal’s multi-lingual Mahavir Karna coming up.
