The Russo Brothers called Dhanush a master of movement after watching the Karthik Subbaraj film, which released on Netflix,
The Gray Man directors Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo) of Avengers-fame seem to have recently watched Dhanush's Jagame Thandhiram. The film, directed by Karthik Subabraj, has Dhanush playing Suruli, a gangster from Madurai. After watching the actor on screen, the Russo Brothers said, "Dhanush is a master of movement. You can see it in the scene. You can also see it in The Gray Man. There is a surprising similarity between dancing and fighting. Believe it or not, at least movie fighting. It's fun to see this side of Dhanush after having worked so intensely with him. He has explosive kinetic energy in the scene. I mean he explodes on camera. The charisma there and top of which, he has an amazing moustache."
They further stated that Dhanush has a great movement. Joe said, "He has a certain style when he moves. He adopts it very specifically for the character he is playing. The way he kind of swings his arms wide and he kind of moves his upper body in a way, that implies character." Anthony added, "He is such a dexterous actor, Dhanush, in the sense he is able to do this very intense action, while at the same time holding on to an attitude and almost a casualness in this character that he is playing. It's a really interesting contrast. It is very hard thing to do as a performer, but it's very fun to watch."
Joe then said that Dhanush plays a complete badass. "If you are a Dhanush fan, I think you could expect the highest level of action from him, You can expect to see him fight the stars of the film in some wonderfully choreographed action sequences. He plays a complete badass."
Dhanush shared the video on his social media page and stated, "Wow that’s a pleasant surprise. Thank you so much @Russo_Brothers .. This means a lot to our Jagame thandiram team. https://youtu.be/mS3GvDq5TKM @karthiksubbaraj @NetflixIndia (sic)."
On casting Dhanush in The Gray Man, the directors stated, "We needed someone who couuld match Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans' intensity and kick as much as. We knew there is only one man in this world for this job - Dhanush. We were fans of Dhanush before working with him. Dhanush to us felt like a perfect casting for this particular role in The Gray Man."
