The GOAT marks Vijay's 68th film in his first collaboration with Venkat Prabhu
Venkat Prabhu is currently working on the post-production of his upcoming film The GOAT- Greatest of All Time starring Vijay. In the latest update about the film, Venkat Prabhu shared that the VFX works with Vijay have been completed. The film is set to release on September 5.
On Saturday, the filmmaker dropped a photo on X (formerly Twitter) of Vijay at the Lola Visual Effects lab, which is known for de-ageing. Venkat Prabhu wrote, "Successfully completed the VFX work with @actorvijay na at @lolavfx can’t wait for the output!!! #TheGreatestOfAllTime #TheGOAT #aVPhero.” Touted to be a sci-fi action drama, Vijay is expected to appear in dual roles, one young and other old. The latest update also confirms the same, with the makers working on the de-ageing VFX works.
With the post-production happening at a brisk pace, the film is scheduled to hit big screens on September 5 this year. The Goat is Vijay’s 68th outing as lead actor and is bankrolled by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, Kalpathi S Suresh under the banner AGS Entertainment.
Apart from Vijay, the upcoming film also stars actors Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran Vasudevan. It is also rumoured that actors Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan will be making cameo appearances in the film, although nothing has been confirmed officially. The GOAT has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The makers recently released the first single from the film, Whistle Podhu, crooned by Vijay himself.
As Vijay some time back hinted at taking up a full-time political journey, The GOAT is expected to bring scores of the actor's fans to theatres. The GOAT marks Vijay first collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu. Cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni has cranked the camera and Venkat Raajen is the editor. Dilip Subbarayan has handled the stunts and Rajeevan is the production designer.
