Nagarjuna, who was last seen in the Sankranthi hit Bangarraju, returns to his forte - action - with his next release, The Ghost. The action thriller is helmed by Praveen Sattaru and is set to hit theatres on October 5. Sonal Chauhan plays the female lead in the thriller that also features Gul Panag, Anikha Surendran, Manish Chaudhari, Ravi Varma, Shrikanth Iyyangar and Bilal Hossein in pivotal roles. The film is bankrolled by Suniel Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar.
Over the past few days, the makers of The Ghost have been teasing viewers with nuggets around the weapon that Nagarjuna uses in the film. Earlier today, the team launched the promo taking us through the origin of the weapon Tamahagane, capturing details of how it's made. The promo takes off with a warning that Nagarjuna receives about the underworld coming for him. A file named 'Red Notice' catches your attention, that supposedly has key details about the underworld mafia.
Later, Nagarjuna opnes a huge box where he finds raw steel named Tamahagane (unique to Japan). He makes a sharp sword with it and confronts the underworld with all his machismo and might. “The sword feels proud in the hands of The King,” a line from the promo reads. The star cuts the steel into pieces, offering us a hint of the sharpness of the object. When the underworld is inching towards him, Nagarjuna blasts the power supply system. The Ghost is set to attack them with Tamahagane.
The promo also reveals that Tama translates to precious and Hagane, steel. The theatrical trailer of The Ghost will be out on August 25. Produced under Sri Venkateswara cinemas LLP and North Star Entertainment, the film has cinematography by Mukesh G and is edited by Dharmendra Kakarala. Mark K Robin scores the music. Sonali Narang is the presenter and Brahma Kadali is the art director. Dinesh Subbarayan and Kaecha are the stunt choreographers.
