The Gentleman OTT release date - Guy Ritchie returns with a new spin-off of his own project of the same name, and this time, it stars Theo James
The Gentlemen
Remember Matthew McConaughey's The Gentlemen? Released in 2019, the film received critical acclaim. It was a story about a wealthy American entrepreneur, Mickey Pearson, who built his fortune through a lucrative marijuana operation in London, decides to sell his empire. This news ignites a firestorm of plots and schemes from various underworld figures, all wrestling to seize control for themselves. Employing tactics like bribery and blackmail, these shady characters will stop at nothing to steal Pearson's kingdom.
The 2019 film was directed by Guy Ritchie, and now he returned with its spin-off, and kept the same name for it. This time, the spin-off is a eight-episode series, and not a film. Theo James plays the lead role of Duke of Halstead, Eddie Horniman, the estranged son of an English aristocrat. James is famous for White Lotus (2021) drama, for which Jennifer Coolidge won an Emmy Award this year. However, the spin-off, The Gentlemen will be released on March 7, 2024, only on Netflix.
Eddie Horniman (Theo James), unprepared for the reality of inheriting his father's 15,000-acre estate, faces a secret that throws his life into chaos. The family fortune is built on something far more volatile than he anticipated. Now, a group of diverse people emerge, each with their own hilarious and outrageous schemes to claim a piece of the pie. Eddie, determined to extricate himself from this bizarre situation, finds himself caught in a whirlwind of suspense and absurdity, where the lines between laughter and danger are razor-thin.
Joining the series alongside Theo James, are Ray Winstone, Kaya Scodelario, known for her work in Lady Chatterley's Lover. She's joined by esteemed veterans like Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones, along with star Giancarlo Esposito. The pivotal cast boasts an equally impressive line-up, featuring - Max Beesley, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins and Dar Salim.
Dive into the hilarious chaos of Eddie's world, as the teaser gives a wild ride through the dangerous underworld of England, where posh players collide with brutal boxing matches. Burn rubber in fast cars and unravel the secrets of mysterious figures hidden in shadowy corners. As Esposito's character chillingly reminds us, British aristocracy birthed the original gangsters, and this isn't your typical drama. Think refinement, yes, but with a potent dose of aggression.
Who will emerge as the alpha wolf in this tangled web of power and intrigue? Only one way to find out by watching The Gentlemen on March 7, 2024.
