The Freelancer trailer: Mohit Raina goes on an extraction mission to save a girl in war-torn Syria

The Neeraj Pandey-produced series is premiering on Disney+ Hotstar on September 1, 2023.

The first trailer for Disney+ Hotstar's The Freelancer has been released. Neeraj Pandey serves as Creator and Showrunner for the series, which is based on Shirish Thorat's novel A Ticket to Syria, is directed by Bhav Dhulia, and is produced by Friday Storytellers. The Freelancer, starring Mohit Raina, Anupam Kher, and Kashmira Pardeshi, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 1, 2023, in addition to a host of other actors, namely Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik, Manjiri Faddnis, and Sarah Jane Dias.

The trailer shows how a young girl kept captive in a war-torn, hazardous setting in Syria will get away from a man on an extraction mission. With Mohit Raina headlining the series in an action-packed avatar. It seems like homegrown Extraction the Hollywood film that featured Chris Hemsworth in the leading role, premiered on Netflix.

Mohit Raina, who plays the lead in the series, has remarked that The Freelancer is a story that touched his heart in several ways. It was a fun and creative challenge to play Avinash Kamath. The character may have to combat his interpersonal issues on a daily basis, but he's about to go on a journey unlike any other as he sets out to save Aliya. It has been incredible to collaborate for Mohit with such creative masterminds as Neeraj Pandey, Bhav Dhulia, and Disney+ Hotstar.

The actor considers it a great privilege to play with such a renowned actor as Anupam Kher, from whom he has gained invaluable insight. Mohit is taking on a lot of responsibility by playing The Freelancer and he wants to show this aspect of himself to the viewers.

Anupam Kher described his character, Dr. Khan, as the mastermind behind the story of the show, The Freelancer. His character is unlike any other he has played because of his outspokenness, strong opinions, and multifaceted nature. Dr. Khan is Avinash's trusted advisor and has a keen understanding of the context in which Avinash must work. Anupam also claimed that one will experience both compassion and excitement when watching this series. Working with Neeraj has also been a positive experience for the veteran actor.

Kashmira Pardeshi, who plays a pivotal role in the series, said that The Freelancer is a story that has left a huge impact on her. Taking on the persona of Aliya was both difficult and exciting for the actor. Investigating her background, feelings, vulnerabilities, strengths, courage, and urgent need to flee a toxic environment provided Kashmira with numerous insights and altered her outlook. It was an honour to share the set with such legends as Neeraj Pandey, Anupam Kher, and Mohit Raina.
