Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt star in The Fall Guy which is now streaming for rent on Prime Video.
Just 40 days after its theatrical release, The Fall Guy has dropped on OTT, much to the excitement of the fans. However, there's a catch: the action comedy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt is streaming on Prime Video but only available to rent for Rs. 299. David Leitch's film has not yet received a full-fledged OTT release, but it may do so in a few months. The Fall Guy written and directed by Drew Pearce and Leitch, premiered in 2024. It is largely based on a 1980s television series. While working on his ex-girlfriend's (Blunt) directorial debut action film, a stuntman (Gosling) becomes embroiled in a conspiracy involving the lead actor (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Additionally, Winston Duke, Stephanie Hsu, Teresa Palmer, and Hannah Waddingham are all part of the ensemble.
Colt Seavers is a stuntman; thus, he gets blasted, shot, crashed, tossed out of windows, and plummeted from great heights for people's amusement, just like everyone else in the stunt profession. After surviving a near-fatal accident that almost ended his career, the working-class hero must now juggle his day job with the pursuit of a missing movie star, the investigation of a conspiracy, and his efforts to win back his beloved. Is there any way this could work out?
Gosling plays a battle-scarred stuntman who takes a year off to focus on his mental and physical health. When the star (Taylor-Johnson) of a high-profile studio movie goes missing, his ex-girlfriend Jody Moreno calls him back into the business.
Colt tries, unsuccessfully, to win back Jody's favour while the film's merciless producer (Waddingham) plots to conceal actor Tom Ryder's (Taylor-Johnson) disappearance from the studio and the press. Nevertheless, the growing intrigue surrounding the vanished celebrity will entangle him in a sinister criminal scheme, bringing him closer to a fate worse than any daredevil could ever imagine.
A love letter to action films and the dedicated but often overlooked crew who make them, The Fall Guy is an all-star apex-action thriller that is both amusing and relentless.
Even though critics gave the film mostly favourable reviews, it bombed at the box office making only $166 million globally on a budget of $125–150 million and costing the studio as much as $60 million.
