The announcement has made fans even more impatient. Eken Babu, the lovable (Misti) sleuth with a sharp mind and quick-witted persona, has already managed to win our hearts on the small screen. Disguised as an ordinary Bengali man, Eken Babu will hunt down the bad man now on the big screen.

Ekendra Sen or Eken Babu was created by Sujan Dasgupta for a 6-episode web series, which was directed by Anirban Mallik It was released on Hoichoi in March 2018. Due to the popularity of the show and the character, the makers went on to create and release five seasons of the show on the platform.

But the film seems to explore a different side of Eken Babu. Unlike the more poised character in the show, he is portrayed as someone who’s more invested in solving a crime along with his two significant sidekicks, played by Somak Ghosh and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay.

The Eken is backed by SVF. The trailer of the film will be out tomorrow, on March 25 and the theme song will be released on April 3. The movie is slated to release in theatres on April 14, a day before the Bengali New Year.
