The Delhi Files: Saswata Chatterjee in Vivek Agnihotri’s next
It was known that Vivek Agnihotri was going to make The Delhi Files. The first look created a buzz in October. Though the name was The Delhi Files, the subtitle read 'The Bengal Chapter'. So, there is a connection between Bengal with the film.
Saswata Chatterjee will play an important role in the film. The actor told OTTplay that he would play a negative role. “I will not be able to talk about the character in detail but it is an important one. Anupam Kher will play Gandhi. What I observed is that Vivek does his research in extreme detail. He knows what he is talking about.”
Though he did not want to disclose anything regarding the film, Saswata said that the shooting would start in January. Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Puneet Issar will play other significant roles in the film.
Saswata's film Jamaloye Jibonto Bhanu will be released soon and the actor is busy with the film's promotion. Saswata is prolific in Bollywood and South Indian films also. A few months back, he played Commander Manas in Nag Ashwin's film Kalki 2898 AD along with Prabhash and Deepika Padukone.
How is the film connected with Bengal? Vivek, in an interview with the media, said, "I initially wanted to name the film The Bengal Files. But then I changed it. I will show Bengal politics and its influence on Delhi politics in the film."
