The Couple, directed by Nupur Asthana, is part of the recently released anthology Unpaused 2: Naya Safar
After the success of the first edition of Unpaused, the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video recently released its sequel. The sequel Unpaused 2: Naya Safar too brings stories of hope and positivity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sequel to the Hindi anthology offers five Hindi short films, titled Teen Tigada, The Couple, Gond Ke Laddu, War Room and Vaikunth, each delving uniquely into the relatable challenges that the pandemic has inflicted on everyone while stressing on the need to embrace a positive outlook as everyone welcomes the New Year.
The anthology is also known for the collaboration among unique talents and filmmakers to share heartwarming and relatable stories. The new edition of the anthology, which was released on January 21, has opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Actor Priyanshu Painyuli, who plays the lead role in Nupur Asthana’s The Couple talks about the film. He issued a statement saying the film The Couple is a very realistic take on how the young, millennial couples are dealing with the pandemic and the work-from-home culture. He said it was a pleasant experience working on the project with his colleague Shreya Dhanwanthary and the filmmaker Nupur Asthana. "All of us have given our best to make a heartwarming film that will strike the right chords with the audience across 240 countries and territories,” he said. Shreya Dhanwanthary added that working on the film was like a homecoming for her. She said, "I have been associated with Amazon Prime Video since I worked in the Original Series Mumbai Diaries 26/11, so with Unpaused: Naya Safar, it's like a homecoming for me. I am delighted and excited to be a part of The Couple that focuses on a modern-day couple and how their lives change when there's a sudden job loss." She added that she is confident about all the films in the anthology and that they will leave you with a 'warm-fuzzy feeling' and make people realise that they should enjoy the smallest joys of life.
Unpaused: Naya Safar showcases five unique stories that provide a window of hope, positivity and a new beginning. They tell stories of love, longing, fear and friendship, brought to life by filmmakers such as Shikha Makan (Gond Ke Laddu), Ruchir Arun (Teen Tigada), Nupur Asthana (The Couple), Ayappa KM (War Room) and Nagraj Manjule (Vaikunth).
