Jaideep Ahlawat's The Broken News 2 opened to positive feedback from critics and audiences alike. The second season of his newsroom drama has received an equal amount of love as the first part, which premiered in 2022 on ZEE5. Jaideep shares screen space with Sonali Bendre and Shriya Pilgaonkar. The actor essays the role of Dipankar Sanyal, the editor-in-chief of Josh 24x7 news channel. After the show premiered on May 3, the makers have now dropped a new promo to keep the audiences intrigued about The Broken News 2.
ZEE5 shared a new promo of Jaideep Ahlawat from The Broken News 2 on Instagram. The clip begins with Jaideep's voiceover stating that he is the one who decides which story will work at Josh 24x7. The promo moves at a fast pace with Dipankar putting forth a statement. He says, "Because of Josh, I lost my family. I just can't lose Josh." While sharing the aforementioned clip on the gram, the streaming platform wrote, "Will Dipankar’s pursuit of TRPs put true journalism at risk? The answer awaits! TheBrokenNewsS2 streaming now, only on ZEE5 (sic)." The promo declares that Dipankar Sanyal is the 'King of TRPs' in The Broken News 2.
Jaideep Ahlawat, who hails from Hisar, told The Hindu that back in the day, there was just one news bulletin that would directly deliver the news of the day. "One day when we were told that there would be a 24-hour news channel, we, as young boys, got excited but wondered how they get so many news stories. We didn’t imagine that news could be created or cooked as well," he recalled.
