Masters of the Air is based on the novel, Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, written by Donald L. Miller, that dictates about the real-life heroes. The 100th Bomb Group is famous for losing an immense amount of aircrafts, bombers and crew members at World War II between 1943 to 1945. The bombardment group was established in 1942 with a line-up of 37 crews, each comprising 10 men. On June 35, 1943, the B-17 aircrafts of the 100th Bomb Group went to the battlefield for the first time.
The Bloody Hundredth will be showing some real footage from the battlefield, what went through in the martyred lives, what was achieved by the American group for their country and how it helped the whole world. You will get to watch the iconic and inspiring stories of the US armed Air-Force. Hanks and Spielberg promise to provide viewers with some real history and the experiences that are beyond imagination.
Despite being fictional, The Bloody Hundredth promises to educate viewers about the US armed-force, 100th Bomb Group. Yesterday AppleTV+ dropped the official trailer of the documentary, where Tom Hanks can be heard narrating a story with Steven Spielberg. The duo teased the viewers sharing how it is linked with Masters of the Air. Although the mini-series already showed the sufferings of the armed forces, the documentary will focus on showing more accurate history.
