Zoë Kravitz will appear as Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman starring Robert Pattinson
Matt Reeves’ has a dark and gritty concoction on the way with the new Batman movie simply titled The Batman. The casting of the film is one of its highlights and will see Zoë Kravitz play Catwoman.
The actor has now opened up about how it is to work with Reeves and about her costume for Catwoman and about growing out her nails for the role.
“We shot two months before quarantine and everything shut down, so in that time, I started to grow my nails out because we couldn't get manicures and then I had this idea to take it further,” said Kravitz in an interview with Buzfeed.
She explains that the nails were not originally part of the plan but was an idea she got during quarantine and when the filming came to a halt. She says she called up the director and shared the idea of having crazy, bitchy, wonderful scary nails that looked like claws, with no polish on them so they looked more like claws.
The Batman will tell a dark and gritty tale about Bruce Wayne and his first year as The Dark Knight, fighting crime in Gotham City. He will come across a formidable foe in The Riddler and will also at one point team up with Catwoman.
The film will have no connections to the DCEU and will be a stand-alone movie. Apart from Kravitz as Catwoman, the upcoming project will see Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne while Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, and John Turturro are also part of the project.
The Batman is slated to release in theatres on March 4, 2022 and will release on HBO Max after 45 days of its theatrical release.
