Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda, and Sridevi's daughter Khushi Kapoor are debuting with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies.
The cast of The Archies
Zoya Akhtar's The Archies is one of the most-awaited films of the year. Many young talents, including Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor, are debuting with the film. Netflix will debut the musical on December 7. For a number of reasons, the Archies have been the topic of conversation and the casting of the film was one of them.
Zoya Akhtar on casting star kids in The Archies
Director Zoya Akhtar said that she had second thoughts about including the Bollywood actors' children in the movie during an interview with India Today. She said she thought about not thinking this way since people should be chosen on the basis of merit and those who deserve it will be successful.
Additionally, Akhtar said that their work will be acknowledged if the audience finds it appealing. It seems strange not to cast them because, after looking through their auditions, they seemed like potential for the three roles. It is strange not to cast someone because they are not famous, but it is equally strange not to cast someone because their parents are famous, Zoya continued. "You have to just go with merit."
She concluded by saying that, although she gave it some thought, she eventually felt that the success of her film was her top goal and that Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor were the three most suitable for the roles.
