The Archies for the desi at heart
The Archies comics is an integral part of all of our growing up years. So, when filmmaker Zoya Akhtar announced that she was making the desi version of the popular global comic The Archies, everyone was excited. Last week saw the release of The Archies, which was one of the most eagerly awaited films of recent time. The film's makers and the OTT platform Netflix on which the film is being streamed left no stone unturned to ensure that the film hits the bulls eye.

Despite all this, the film received mixed responses from audiences. Not one to be deterred by this, the film's director, Zoya Akhtar, is continuing to do everything possible for the film. Recently, she was on the popular chat show, The Daily Show with Kal Penn, where she spoke from her heart about The Archies. While introducing her, Kal Penn described Zoya as one of the top five directors from India.

Zoya Akhtar reveals an interesting fact about the Bollywood paps
The interview began on an extremely positive and fun-filled note, with both Zoya and Kal recalling their last meeting - when the former’s dog ate the latter’s brie and started choking. Brie is a soft cow's-milk cheese. The conversation then drifted to Kal and Zoya talking about Bollywood paparazzi. Talking about this, Zoya called Bollywood paps "sweet" and added that they "do not say invasive things, but are very random". She also recalled an event where she fell down and requested the paps not to put out the photos, to which they obliged.

The Archies stars a young stars, including Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda. The film is available to be streamed on Netflix.
