Ramanna Youth, the political comedy, marking Abhai Naveen’s directorial debut, releases in theatres on September 15. The film revolves around a small-time political party worker with big dreams and focuses on the lows and highs in his journey. AAR has bankrolled the film under Firefly Arts while Silly Monks Studios presents the same. Abhai and Bhavani Naveen wrote the story.

While a preview show hosted by the team earlier this week fetched good reviews for the Abhai Naveen starrer, now, popular filmmaker, actor Tharun Bhascker has shared his feedback about the film in a new video. For the unversed, the latter had given Abhai the major break in his career - Pelli Choopulu, which hit screens in 2016. It provided him a good foundation to grow in the industry.

“Abhai got selected in Pelli Choopulu through an audition and has grown on his own merit. He has great timing and a unique approach to storytelling from what we spoke in our initial interactions. He’s a keen observer and I was very excited when I heard he’s turning a director. He has gone through a lot of tricky phases in his career and I’ve seen it from close quarters,” Tharun shared.

When the actor-director watched the rough cut of the film, he was surprised by the authenticity in the storytelling and how Abhai didn’t resort to personal glorification. He only wanted to portray life he had seen in political circles and has told the story as genuinely as possible. Tharun also praised the performances of the supporting actors and said the film will leave everyone satisfied.

Vishnu Oi, Anil Geela, Amulya Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh, Srikanth Iyengar, Jabardasth Rohini, Jagan Yogiraj, Bunny Abiraan, Anji Valguman, Manoj Muthyam, Yadama Raju, Vidyasagar Karampuri, Sai Mahesh, Bhaskar Manyam, Venu Polsani, Vishvendar Reddy, Anand Chakrapani, Dhanalakshmi, Mallesh Balsat play other key roles in the film.
