Thani Oruvan 2 officially announced! Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Mohan Raja reunite for sequel

The film, which will be bankrolled by AGS Production, is all set to be made on a grand scale

It's finally official! After much speculation, the sequel to Thani Oruvan (2015) has been officially announced. The film's director Mohan Raja made the announcement on his social media handle on the 8th anniversary of Thani Oruvan.

He wrote, "On this #8yearsofThanioruvan proudly joining for the 3rd time with @Ags_production , 4th time with the lady superstar #Nayanthara AND 7th time with MY DEARMOST  @actor_jayamravi

We hear that the sequel will be made on a large scale and will be much bigger than that of the original film. Jayam Ravi and Mohan Raja held a special screening of Thani Oruvan as the film completed 8 years and also announced the deets about the sequel. The director stated that the story of the sequel has come out really well and the original had a hidden detail, which will be revealed in the sequel.

Jayam Ravi to be back as Mithran

Jayam Ravi, who will be back as IPS officer Mithran, shared his happiness on his social media handle. Dropping the announcement poster of Thani Oruvan 2, Jayam Ravi wrote, "Unveiling the epic return! Get ready for the next chapter of adventure & intrigue as we proudly announce the arrival of #Mithran in #ThaniOruvan2 (sic)."

Arvind Swamy wishes the team

Arvind Swamy, who made a smashing comeback with the film as the cold-blooded, conniving businessman Siddharth Abhimanyu, wished the team. Now fans are hoping that the actor appears in the film once again as a twin brother. However, other than the lead cast, there have been no announcements about the remaining cast and crew.

Music for Thani Oruvan was by Hiphop Tamizha, cinematography by Ramji and editing by Gopi Krishna. The film was bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, who is also producing the sequel.
