Thangalaan trailer review: It is expected to delve into the origins of Kolar Gold Fields. The trailer hints at a gripping storyline with Vikram's powerful performance and GV Prakash's intense score
The makers have finally unveiled the trailer of Thangalaan, the upcoming Tamil film starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role. Now, with the makers are yet to announce the release date of the film, the trailer has enough to make us get excited about what is in store for us. How has the trailer of Thangalaan been? Let’s find out.
Much contrary to many star-studded films, the makers of Thangalaan have kept the trailer short and crisp. With the trailer a little over two minutes, we first see a landscape so vast and sun-kissed, as an animated black leopard enters the screen. It seems Thangalaan will revolve around an indigenous tribe, headed by Vikram.
Coupled with gritty and intense background music, Vikram's rustic avatar is one of the most expected elements from the film, as we come to know Parvathy Thiruvothu plays a woman from the tribe. As the tribe is summoned by a British official to carry out a task, we somewhere get to know that they are roped in to excavate the gold fields of Kolar. Pa Ranjith, who has always talked the stories of oppressed, never seem to miss his mark, as we see how the villagers are made to act as puppets of plundering officials.
What comes as a sweet surprise is Malavika Mohanan's character as a sorceress which is shrouded with mystery. Is she real or is she the guardian angel? Do the tribes see her as god, or defence mechanism? Besides this, Vikram unleashes his powerhouse of talent, as we see him ease into his role with so much dedication. GV Prakash’s background score also gives enough goosebumps.
