Thandel stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. The film is a rustic village drama about a fisherman who gets arrested by Pakistani troops.
Naga Chaitanya
Naga Chaitanya is busy with his new film Thandel in the direction of Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya fame. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in this film which is done with 40% of its shoot. We at OTTplay had already reported that Sai Pallavi joined the shoot a few days ago and will be seen as a girl from the Srikakulam region and will be seen as a village belle.
Now, an interesting piece of news is making the rounds that the film will have a tragic ending and Sai Pallavi's character will pass away in the film. Thandel deals with the story of a fisherman who accidentally enters the Pakistani waters and gets arrested by the cops there. How he gets back to the love of his life is the story of Thandel.
Sai Pallavi will be seen as a girl who has social idealistic values with a rebellious attitude. She will also be mouthing the Srikakulam dialect as per the news. This news about her tragic ending has disappointed her fans a bit.
However, one of the sources close to the unit says that Sai Pallavi's role is one of the biggest highlights of the film and the love story between her and Chay will be a memorable experience for the audience.
The word is also that Sai Pallavi's role will bring in the actual twist in the love story and the concept of the film will be unleashed as a war between the main lead Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi and it will form the proper drama in Thandel.
Not many know that Sai Pallavi took a very long time to say yes to the film but the fans are super thrilled that she has signed a Telugu film after a long time. This is the second time that Sai Pallavi has teamed up with Chay Akkineni after their hit film Love Story.
Devi Sri Prasad, the National Award winner for Pushpa, will compose the music for this film which is being produced by Bunny Vas. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
