Naga Chaitanya launched his new film Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya fame, a few weeks ago. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in this film and GA 2 Pictures is the production house behind this mega project set in Vizag. Thandel has been in the news for the longest time and Naga Chaitanya has pinned a lot of hopes on this film.
Well, the latest update is that the first schedule of the film has gone on floors at Malpe Fort in Udupi, Karnataka. The unit will move to Gokarna after four days. Scenes in the first three days will be shot on Naga Chaitanya and other cast. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to make this film a solid hit and are spending quite lavishly over the shoot locations and production design.

Sai Pallavi will enter the shoot from the 4th day onwards as per the news. Sai Pallavi will be seen as a village belle in this film and this is the second time she is romancing Chay after Love Story which was directed by Sekhar Kammula. Sai Pallavi will speak the Srikakulam dialect in this film.
Most of the film will be shot on the beaches of Vizag and its surrounding areas. The action drama will be made on a budget of Rs 55 crore which is the highest ever in Chay's career. The makers are roping in some big names from the south to play key roles in this film. Thandel is director Chandoo Mondeti's prestigious project to date and he has worked on the script for over two years now.
National Award-winner Devi Sri Prasad will compose the music for this film and he has already readied two tunes as per the news. Thandel is being produced by Bunny Vas. Chay will be seen as a rugged fisherman in this film which has an underlying love story. He has already spent two days with fishermen in Vizag to get a hang of his character.
