Thalapathy Vijay roped in for a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara's Jawan?

The upcoming Atlee directorial will also reportedly feature Deepika Padukone in a cameo role.

Jawan is the talk of the town these days, and with good reason. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer film marks Nayanthara and director Atlee’s Bollywood debut. And now it seems that the star studded cast is about to get bigger. It was reported that Thalapathy Vijay has been roped in to play a cameo role in the upcoming film.

According to a report in Deccan Herald, Thalapathy Vijay has come on board for a cameo in the film. A source told the portal that the scene featuring SRK and Vijay will be filmed some time in September. The report stated that the cast and crew had already completed the recce and started working on the sets as well. Filming will reportedly take place in Chennai. Nayanthara had reportedly started shooting for Jawan last month in Mumbai.

In addition to Vijay, Deepika Padukone is also expected to appear in a cameo scene in Jawan. A PeepingMoon report stated that the actress would play a small, yet powerful role in the film. Deepika will reportedly essay the role of SRK’s wife, appearing in flashback sequences. Shah Rukh is expected to play a dual role in the film, portraying the characters of both a father and son. SRK and Deepika will also be seen sharing the screen in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan, which mark’s the former’s first theatrical release in almost four years. Pathan also stars John Abraham.

Earlier it was reported that Rana Daggubati was also in talks for Jawan, to play the role of an antagonist. But lately, speculations have started to emerge that the Baahubali star has opted out of the film due to his busy schedule and previous commitments. The makers have reportedly approached Vijay Sethupati for the role instead.

Jawan will be released on the big screen on June 2, 2023.
