Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master has added yet another feather to its cap. The 2021 blockbuster is all set to release in Japan, that too, with the title Sensei in November. The action thriller has Vijay Sethupathi playing the antagonist Bhavani and Malavika Mohanan as the leading lady and the dubbed version in Japanese will release on November 18. The Japanese poster is now doing the rounds on the internet. The supporting cast for Master includes Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Gouri G Kishan, Andrea Jeremiah and Poovaiayar.

The plot revolves around an alcoholic professor who is assigned to teach at a juvenile home which is under the control of a dreaded gangster named Bhavani. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Philomin Raj. The film was such a huge hit at the box office that the duo of Lokesh and Vijay are now teaming up for their next, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy67. The pre-production work is going on and the shoot is likely to begin in December.

Master is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Click below for the trailer.

Interestingly, Master is the second film of Lokesh Kanagaraj to have a release in Japan. Earlier, his action entertainer Kaithi starring Karthi, too had hit screens in Japan last November under the title Kaithi Dilli. In the meantime, a sequel to Kaithi is also in the works. After Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest release Vikram, starring Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, the film is now said to be part of the LCU franchise(Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe).

It is to be noted that SS Rajamouli's RRR featuring Junior NTR and Ram Charan, too, was released in Japan. Tamil films have always worked with the Japanese audience after Superstar Rajinikanth's Muthu (1995) turned out to be a massive hit there. The dance number composed by AR Rahman, Thillana Thillana (sung by Sujatha Mohan and Mano) emerged as a chartbuster in Japan. Since then, films of Rajinikanth have been released in the country at regular intervals.
