Actor Vijay and filmmaker H Vinoth are reportedly collaborating on a movie that will likely be titled Thalapathy 69. The film's cast has been revealed by the producers. On October 2, the makers confirmed that Mamitha Baiju is playing a pivotal role in the film, with Pooja Hegde as the female lead. In the upcoming days, the remaining cast members and a title should be revealed.

With Pooja Hegde and Hindi actor Bobby Deol already involved, Mamitha is the newest addition to the eagerly awaited film. "We are happy to ‘OFFICIALLY’ announce that Mini Maharani #MamithaBaiju joins #Thalapathy69 cast," wrote the producers on a social media post. The young star, who rose to fame with the Malayalam 2024 blockbuster, Premalu, made her Tamil debut with GV Prakash-starrer Rebel. Together with the rest of the actors, Mamitha is anticipated to play a significant part in Thalapathy 69. There are also rumors that Priyamani and Prakash Raj would feature in the film.

H Vinoth, the director of acclaimed films such as Thunivu, Sathuranga Vettai, and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, is going to work with Vijay for the first time. It will be intriguing to see what kind of movie the two make together. The movie's soundtrack will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The makers of Thalapathy 69 are expecting the film to release in October 2025.

Prior to this, H Vinoth had disclosed that Thalapathy 69 is a family entertainer rather than a political one. He stated, "This movie is not going to be political, nor will it criticise any political party. It's a light film that will be fully commercial." Thalapathy 69 is being funded by KVN Productions.
