Thalapathy 69 cast update: Pooja Hegde to team up with Vijay once again after Beast

The film, slated for release in October 2025, marks the first collaboration between Vijay and Vinoth.

We recently reported that actor Vijay will be working with director H Vinoth for a film that is tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. The makers have been unveiling the cast of the film, and on Tuesday, they announced that Hindi actor Bobby Deol will be part of the film. Now, on Wednesday, October 2, the makers announced that Pooja Hegde will be playing the female lead.

Thalapathy 69 is one of the eagerly awaited projects in Tamil cinema. Headlined by Vijay, the film is expected to be the actor’s final film before he bids good bye and leaves to start a full-time political life.

Director H Vinoth, who made films like Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Sathuranga Vettai, and Thunivu, is all set to join hands with Vijay marking their maiden collaboration. It will be interesting to watch what kind of film the duo will be coming up with. The music for the film will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander, a regular collaborator in Vijay films. Thalapathy 69 makers are aiming to release the film in October 2025.

Now, the makers have been unveiling the cast members of the film. With Hindi actor Bobby Deol already onboard the latest to join is Pooja Hegde.

It is to be noted that Pooja will mark her second collaboration with Vijay after earlier working with him in Beast. Her role has been kept under wraps. Other names rumored to be associated with the project include Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, and Priyamani.

Earlier, H Vinoth had revealed that Thalapathy 69 will not be a political film but one that will be watched by all age groups. “This film will not attack any political party, nor will be political. It is a light film which will be fully commercial,” he had said. KVN Productions is bankrolling Thalapathy 69. The film is eyeing for October 2025 release.
