It looks like Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu's upcoming film is going to be a visual extravaganza of sorts. The film, bankrolled by AGS Production, marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with Venkat Prabhu. Venkat Prabhu had called the opportunity, a dream come true.

The latest we hear about the film is that the core team comprising Venkat Prabhu, producer Archana Kalpathi and Vijay's manager Jagadish, has headed to the US to explore a 3D VFX scan technology. The technology will be tried out on Vijay, who is said to be playing a dual role in the film. Interestingly, Ulaganayagan had used the same de-aging technology for his role in his upcoming film, Indian 2 and Shah Rukh Khan in Fan.

While Vijay is said to be playing a dual role in the film, Jyotika and Priyanka Mohan are said to be playing the leading ladies in it. If the news is indeed true, Jyotika will be working with Vijay after two decades. The duo had earlier worked in Kushi and Tirumalai. Thalapathy 68 has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marking his second collaboration with Thalapathy after his last outing, Pudhiya Geethai (2003). Hence, expectations are high from Thalapathy 68 .

Prabhu Deva was last seen with Vijay in a song in Rowdy Rathore. The duo had also worked together with Pokkiri and Villu, both of which were directed by Prabhu Deva. There is also a buzz that Jai, who was last seen in Bagavathi (2002) will team up with the actor. An official announcement is awaited on all the rumours.

The star cast includes Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand to name a few. Leo is slated to hit screens on October 19.
