Simran and Vijay, a hit pair of the '90s
While Simran played Suriya's leading lady in Nerukku Ner, she appeared in the hit dance number Aalthotta Boopathy in Youth. The duo played the lead pair in the remaining films, which turned out to be hits at the box office. If the actress indeed gets on board, this would mark her reunion with Vijay after two decades. The last time they were seen on screen together was in Udhaya (2004), which was helmed by Azhagam Perumal.
Jyotika, too, approached for the role
It is to be noted that earlier Jyotika was approached to play the same role. Going by the speculations around Simran being part of the film, it looks like Jyotika has rejected the offer. An official confirmation is awaited yet. Fans were quite excited about the reunion as it marked the duo's comeback after two decades.
Vijay in dual roles
Vijay is said to be playing dual roles in the film (father and son) and Simran and Jyotika's names were tossed around for the father's character. Captain Miller actress Priyanka Mohan's name is being considered to play the love interest of the son's character. An official confirmation is awaited on all the names.
