Even as fans of Vijay are eagerly awaiting the release of Beast which is slated for April 13, the news doing the rounds on the star's next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 66, is making them more excited. Billed as a bilingual to be released in Tamil and Telugu, the project will be produced by Tollywood producer Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations. SS Thaman has already been brought on board to compose music for the movie. This is the musician's first film for a Vijay-starrer.

A while ago, it was heard that Telugu actress Mehreen Pirzada, who made her Tamil debut with Pataas, will be seen playing a pivotal role in the movie. There has been speculation about the female lead of the movie. The names of Rashmika Mandanna and Kiara Advani were doing the rounds till recently.
