Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Thalaivar 171 will have dialogues penned by this writer, instead of Rathna Kumar
Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is gearing up to kickstart the shoot of Thalaivar 171, is all set to make some announcements soon. Even as we await the updates, the latest buzz surrounding the Rajinikanth-starrer is that the film has roped in a new dialogue writer. According to sources, the makers have roped in Chandra to pen the dialogues for the film instead of Rathna Kumar, who was earlier reported to be the dialogue writer for the film.
Interestingly, Chandra had earlier collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraj to write the dialogues for his debut directorial Maanagaram. An official confirmation from the team regarding the latest speculation is awaited.
Writer Rathna Kumar, a frequent collaborator of Lokesh Kanagaraj, opted out of Thalaivar 171 reportedly due to his busy schedule and commitments with other directors. However, the rumour mills stated that the writer was ousted from the project after his controversial remarks, poking fun at Rajinikanth, during Vijay-starrer Leo success event.

Fans of both Vijay and Rajinikanth indulged in Twitter war for quite some time, and the writer had to announce his ‘break’ from social media until his next project announcement.
Now, it is speculated that Rathna Kumar has been replaced by Chandra over this particular issue, with fans intrigued to know more about the new collaboration.
