The buzz is that Big B and Rajinikanth are all set to team up for a film after 32 years
Ever since the buzz about Rajinikanth joining hands with Amitabh Bachchan began to do the rounds on social media, fans of the actors are on cloud nine. Speculations are rife that Rajinikanth will be teaming up with his Hum co-star after a hiatus of 32 years. The duo is likely to work together in Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel next, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalaivar170. The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Though an official announcement about the same is awaited, here's a dekko at the few times when the Superstars shared screen space.
Andha Kanoon (1983)
Director T Rama Rao's film is the Hindi remake of Vijayakant's Sattam Oru Iruttarai (1981). The plot revolves around two siblings who attempt to avenge the death of their parents. While the sister believes in the law, the brother wants to seek justice on his own. The film had Rajinikanth, Reena Roy and Hema Malini in the lead, with Amitabh Bachchan making a special appearance in it in a crucial role. Andha Kanoon marked Rajinikanth's debut in Hindi.
Geraftaar (1985)
This action drama starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Madhavi and Poonam Dhillon was one of the highest grossing films of the year. The plot revolves around two long-lost brothers who meet in prison and help each other take revenge. Rajinikanth played a cameo as Inspector Hussain who locks them up in jail. The film is directed by Prayag Raj.
Hum (1991)
Hum, one of the biggest hits in the career of Amitabh Bachchan, had an ensemble star cast including Rajinikanth, Govinda, Danny Denzongpa, Kimi Katkar and Deepa Sahi to name a few. Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikangth and Govinda played brothers in this action flick. The film delves into the life of a dock worker who runs away to make a new life for him and his family. However, years down the lane, his old nemesis is back.
