A couple of days ago, we had told you that makers of Rajinikanth's upcoming film Thalaivar 169 (tentative title) are considering titles like Samrat, Criminal, Jailer, and so on. Sun Pictures which is bankrolling the project has now put an end to all speculation by announcing an official update.

The most-anticipated movie has been now titled Jailer - a poster of the film is also unveiled by them - it features a long blood-soaked cleaver similar to a butcher knife hanging upside down in what looks like a factory.

The poster features only the names of Rajinkanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh. The team is yet to come up with any new details with regard to the film's cast and crew. The poster which says "Writer-Director Nelson" has put an end to the rumour that KS Ravikumar is part of the screenplay team.

Now, fans are looking forward to the date on which the project goes on floors. According to sources, the film is likely to commence its shooting in a couple of month's time. Redin Kingsley, who is a regular in Nelson's films, revealed recently that the director has completed writing only the first half of the movie.

It is after a long time that the makers of a big ticket project announced the official title before the film went on floors. Jailer is the third movie of Rajinikanth which has music composed by Anirudh after Petta (streaming on Netflix) and Darbar (streaming on Amazon Prime Video).

The young composer is currently on a high after giving back-to-back successful songs for different films. One of the prime attractions of his latest release Vikram is his background score. A self-confessed fan of Rajinikanth, movie buffs are curious to know what he has in store for Jailer.
