Reasons to watch Thalaimai Seyalagam on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium

Impressive cast

Firstly, Thalaimai Seyalagam is headlined by actor Kishore, who is known for his versatility. The actor will play the role of the chief minister, who is accused of a major corruption scandal. Though we have to watch the series to find out if his character is corrupt or not, Kishore seems to have pulled off the aged look and maturity of a politician with ease. He is also ably supported by a talented cast, including actors Sriya Reddy, Ramya Nambessan, Bharath, Aditya Menon, Kani Kusruti, Niroop Nandakumar, Darsha Gupta, and others.

Vasanthabalan’s debut in series

Filmmaker Vasanthabalan is known for his unique choice of scripts. Right from talking about the plight of textile showroom workers in Angadi Theru, to showing the life of theatre artists in the pre-Independence era in Kaaviya Thalaivan, the director has talked about the struggles and resilience of the working class. With his debut in long-format storytelling, Vasanthabalan’s choices are not questioned, as we expect an interesting watch, filled with layered characters and deft writing.

Sprawling subject matter

Political themes and subjects have also been an expansive storytelling content. After shows like Maharani and Tandav in the north took the OTT space by storm, Thalaimai Seyalagam is expected to do the same in the south. With multiple character arcs and subplots, the series seems the right way to present a sprawling subject matter like Indian politics, which is not only vast but also twisted at times. Thalaimai Seyalagam consists of eight episodes with an average of 35 minutes each, making it not too short or long.

Intriguing trailer

The makers of Thalaimai Seyalagam cut an interesting trailer, which only partly revealed the story. Corruption is alleged, and party members are hustling to protect themselves and save the image of the party. What are the charges? Who are the ones involved? And are they really at fault? The trailer raises many questions but carefully leaves you wondering about the answers.

Strong social messaging

Thalaimai Seyalagam is expected to come up with strong social messaging towards the end. Vasanthabalan’s films are expected to communicate themes and messages politically, but for most keep them subtle so that they are not too on the face. Thalaimai Seyalagam too is expected to navigate on this path and talk about a larger concerning issues of the nation.
